As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in translating innovative designs into production-ready systems. You will ensure that our robots are technically robust, scalable, and reliable, directly contributing to the scaling of human-centered healthcare robotics in the Netherlands and beyond.

The Role
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for the full industrialization trajectory. Your tasks include:
Translating an aesthetic concept into a production-ready mechanical design (CAD).
Applying value engineering to reduce costs and increase reliability.
Selecting suitable components, materials, and suppliers.
Leading supplier selection and evaluation in collaboration with procurement and operations.
Bringing technical expertise into production processes and manufacturing flows.
Ensuring compliance with laws, safety standards, and certifications (including CE marking).
Documenting the entire development process for traceability and quality assurance.
Actively participating in internal reviews and external discussions with partners and suppliers.
Designing according to Design for Manufacturing (DfM) and Design for Assembly (DfA) principles.
Must-haves
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
At least 5 years of experience in product development and industrialization, preferably in high-tech or precision systems.
Experience with 3D CAD (SolidWorks, Inventor, or equivalent), DfM, tolerance calculations, and material selection.
Proven track record of delivering production-ready designs in multidisciplinary teams.
Practical experience with supplier management, RFQ processes, and quality validation.
Strong communication skills in both technical and business contexts.
Fluent in English (Dutch is a plus).
Experience with specific certifications or industry standards (e.g., ISO, CE marking, FDA).
Experience in start-ups or industrial product introductions.
