Returning time
to care
Autonomous hospital robots that take over
logistical tasks from caregivers
WINNER AUDIENCE AWARD
OUR MISSION
Automating hospital logistics so healthcare professionals can focus on their true calling: caring for patients
With the Ambyon ONE robot, we take over ad-hoc transport tasks within hospitals and move autonomously between wards, pharmacies, laboratories, and other departments. By reliably delivering essential supplies without delay, distraction, or human error, we help healthcare teams stay focused where they’re needed most.
30% of nurses time is spent on logistical tasks, instead of direct patient care (FME Gupta, 2022)
Hospital studies that have reallocated nurse time with automation report a 14% increase in HCAHPS patient satisfaction scores (Clarke, M.; 2023)
1/3 Medication errors can be prevented by process automation (Nature Digital Medicine, 2023)
WHY DOES THIS MATTER NOW?
One-third of healthcare
professional’s time is consumed
by logistical tasks
Time that could be better spent on patient care.
OUR SOLUTION
Meet Ambyon ONE.
An autonomous robot
for hospital logistics.
Ambyon ONE is a new generation of mobile robots that navigate hospitals to deliver and retrieve medication, lab samples, equipment, and nutrition, while intelligently interacting with their surroundings.
Our speciality
Human-cognition inspired perception
Designed to safely navigate dynamic healthcare settings while predicting and adapting to human activity for fast, reliable and predictable transport.
Intuïtive interaction
Seamlessly adapts to existing hospital workflows, supports multiple logistics use cases, provides real-time ETA and status communication, and a calm and ergonomic design ensures easy and non-disruptive use.
Zero infrastructural changes required
Deployable in existing hospital environments without rebuilding infrastructure
Designed together with
healthcare professionals
We can’t build this vision alone. Thoughtful co-creation is at the heart of our approach. Over the past year, we’ve developed the full Ambyon experience through our demonstrator, working closely with healthcare professionals to gather feedback and refine our solution. This collaborative process is essential, because the impact we aim to make depends on how well we meet real-world needs

What others are saying
We prepare medication for patients here. Transporting it takes a lot of time. The medication is transported through the hospital by logistics staff or pharmacy assistants themselves. But sometimes they are on the other side of the hospital, so they first have to come to us, pick up the medicine, and then go back. That can sometimes take up to half an hour.
– Pharmacy assistant
Especially during the evening and night hours, there is no staff available. It’s important that medication delivery always continues without delay; anything that contributes to that is therefore very welcome.
– Pharmacy assistant
Just delivering medication takes our pharmacy assistants almost four hours every day. We would rather spend the time on patient care.
– Hospital pharmacist
Partnerships &
Collaboration
Their expertise and commitment play a crucial role in shaping our technology and ensuring its relevance in the healthcare environment.
In addition to these valued partnerships, we’ve established a Frontrunners Consortium—a select group of pioneering healthcare institutions that are the first to co-create, develop, test & deploy Ambyon in real-world settings.
Projects
Shaping the future of healthcare robotics together!
CareBOTS
Innovative healthcare robotics
Ambyon is a partner in the CareBOTS project. This project focuses on the development and application of robotics solutions in healthcare. CareBOTS, therefore, lays the foundation for a growing community around medical and healthcare robotics in the Netherlands. The project works on reducing workload for healthcare professionals and improving efficiency, while also aiming to strengthen collaboration between SMEs, knowledge institutions, and healthcare providers.
By connecting innovation, research, and real-world care practice, CareBOTS contributes to the development of a future-proof healthcare sector. The project is made possible by the European Regional Development Fund (Europees Fonds voor Regionale Ontwikkeling (EFRO)), the government and the Province of North Brabant through the OPZuid 2021–2027 program.Project partners:
NL Robotics, TU/e, Erasmus MC, Vectioneer, Ambee, LINseq, Radboudumc, Avans Hogeschool, Syntric Medical, HAN, SonicPrecision, TNOWant to know more? Check the website of NlRobotics or Stimulus.
ZorgBots
Innovative healthcare robotics
Ambyon is participating in the ZorgBots project. This project focuses on accelerating the adoption of robotics in healthcare by exploring practical applications and validating their value in real-world settings. ZorgBots focuses on market research and early-stage prototypes, to show the impact robotics can have on the daily practice of healthcare professionals and patients.
By bringing together healthcare providers and innovation partners, this project lays the groundwork for the further development and implementation of healthcare robotics in the Netherlands.
This project started in 2022 and is made possible through the OPZuid 2021–2027 program.
